Power Arm Spring 2026 : Player Spotlight Series - Week 6
The spring season is in full swing, and our athletes are putting the Tri-State area on notice. From dominant outings on the mound to offensive explosions at the plate, Week 6 was a masterclass in high-level execution.
This week, we’re highlighting three Power Arm standouts who have been absolutely relentless. Here’s a deep dive into the numbers behind their mid-season surge.
Paul Buccheri - Junior Pleasantville High School
The Lockdown Ace
If you're looking for a definition of "electric," look no further than Paul Buccheri’s recent stretch. Navigating a tough Junior season, Buccheri has been nearly untouchable, posting a staggering .832 ERA over 33 innings of work.
What stands out isn't just the run prevention, it’s the pure dominance. With 50 K’s, he’s averaging well over 10 strikeouts per 9 innings, keeping hitters guessing with a nasty mix that has limited opponents to a measly .203 batting average.
Key Stat: A 1.0 WHIP shows his elite command; he simply doesn’t give away free bases. When Paul is on the hill, Pleasantville is in the driver’s seat.
Michael Hanna - Senior - Don Bosco Prep
The Mississippi State Commit Finding Every Gap
Michael Hanna is having the kind of Senior season that scouts dream about. Hitting at a .518 clip, the Mississippi State commit is proving why he’s one of the most feared bats in the state.
Hanna’s game is built on versatility and speed. While his .839 Slugging Percentage reflects his power, it’s his ability to manufacture runs that separates him. With 16 RBIs and 29 total hits (including 9 doubles and 3 triples), he is a constant threat to turn a single into a scoring opportunity.
The Power Factor: He’s not just a contact hitter—that 1 Home Run and high slugging mark prove he can leave the yard when pitchers make a mistake.
Nick Maretzo - Senior - Mahwah High School
The RBI Machine
Nick Maretzo is putting on a hitting clinic for Mahwah High. Maintaining a .485 Average deep into the season is a feat in itself, but it’s Nick's production in high-leverage moments that defines his Week 6.
Maretzo has been the ultimate "clutch" performer, racking up 22 RBIs. He’s finding holes in the defense with 24 singles, but he’s also flashing significant pop with 3 Home Runs. Perhaps most impressive is his discipline; with 12 Walks on the season, he refuses to chase, forcing pitchers to come into his zone.
Stat to Watch: A .697 Slugging Percentage combined with that walk rate makes him one of the most efficient offensive engines in the Shore Conference.
Training for the Next Level
These three athletes represent the "Power Arm Way" dedication to the craft, data-driven adjustment, and a "bring it" attitude every time they step between the white lines.
